The recent Kalgoorlie club Championship was taken out by Lionel 'Leadfoot' Kirkby. Lionel started the feature on outside pole with Glenn 'Wallbanger' Fiorenza on pole. Kirkby knew he had to get the jump on Fiorenza but it wasn't until the back straight, with the 2 side by side, that Kirkby was able to pull away.
Kirkby went on with an all the way win but it was the minor placings that had all the action. Fiorenza, Sloane and Walker put on some great racing with Sloane finally taking 2nd place over Fiorenza and Walker.

The Kalgoorlie track was superb all night with heat wins going to Alan Sloane, Lionel Kirkby & Glenn Fiorenza

Lionel thanked Darren & Annette Atkinson for their help on the night, Peter Walker for making the trip from Esperance, and his wife Pat for her support over the entire season.

Kirkby also took out the Esperance club Championship, so a great result for one of the hardest workers in the WA AMCA club.
