WA AMCA State Rep Keith Vanderleer may be new to this role but he is no stranger to speedway racing in Western Australia.
"I started racing at 14 in an FJ Holden at Kellerberrin Speedway in stock production. There were no safety rules to speak of, just as long as you had a roll cage, helmet and seat belts. There was no such thing as tear offs, just a wet sponge to do the job."
Keith recalls racing at Kellerberrin, Merredin, Muckinbudin, Bencubbin and Quarading of which Kellerberrin is now the only surviving track.
Over the years Keith has raced Street Stocks and Super Sedans with his favourite track being Kambalda, even though it was the venue of his biggest crash in speedway - flipping his Super Sedan when the track still had tyres as a wall.

Keith Vanderleer's #25 Redline
Keith's current car is a Mk1 Redline, "I was attracted to the AMCA division because of the 253 V8 and the look of the cars". Now 52 years young, Keith lives in Rockingham and works week on week off as a long hole driller in underground mining.
"I'm really looking forward to this season with car numbers increasing at some of our country venues. Narrogin Speedway is on the calendar for the first time and a return to Bunbury after a few years away will be awesome."
