The opening round of the 'Cameron' AMCA Action Series at the Perth Motorplex will long be remembered for all the wrong reasons. The start of the feature race saw Trevor Bosveld, in the fully refurbished #17 Ludlow, alongside the #20 of Graham Murray. Bosveld jumped to the early lead with Colin Dolmans slotting into second place. Koran Atkinson made it into 3rd before Murray retired with a flat right front. On the restart Bosveld lead them away before Dolmans and Atkinson made their way through. It was then Atkinson who started to work the highline and made his move to pass Dolmans on the outside. As they exited turn 4 the pair were side by side as Dolmans slid up the track leaving Atkinson no where to go. Bosveld saw the opportunity to pass them both as they wrestle for the lead but the pair came off the wall into the path of Bosveld. Bosveld went upside down coming to rest on top of Dolmans with all cars recieving substantial damage. With the race declared Dolmans was deemed the cause and disqualified, official finishing positions were Koran Atkinson 1st, Trevor Bosveld 2nd and Peter Smith 3rd.
Round 1 feature winner Koran Atkinson The 'Cameron' AMCA Action Series moves to the SmokeFree Collie Speedway on November 7th for the Hilltop Shootout.
