Visser takes the Hilltop Shootout

Round 2 of the 'Cameron' AMCA Action Series was held on a very fast SmokeFree Collie Speedway. The 'Hilltop Shootout' was taken out out by the ever consistent Laurens 'Big Ted' Visser in the #4 Barstead chassis.
His job was made all the more easier when pole sitter Koran Atkinson looped his ride early in the 20 lap feature. Atkinson was sent to the rear but was forced to retire after a tangle with Kalgoorlie gun Lionel Kirkby.
It was then up to Keith Vanderleer to make a charge for the lead, Keith threw everything at Visser to try and make the pass but couldn't find a gap big enough.
Jac Dolmans Snr drove to a comfortable 3rd after an engine transplant in the ex-Tim Bolt Hurricane. The battle for 4th was between Trevor Bosveld, who repaired his car after a massive roll over 2 weeks prior, and Brendon Earle with Earle rounding out the top four.

Laurens Visser (1st), Keith Vanderleer (2nd), Jac Dolmans Snr (3rd) & Brenden Earle (4th)

The round also doubled as round one of the 'Wrothy's Workshop Gear' Tri-series with Visser naturally at the sharp end of the points tally.
Many thanks to the Collie Speedway team and the Crowe family of Collie for their ongoing support of AMCA Nationals.
The 'Cameron' AMCA Action Series heads back to the Perth Motorplex on the 20th of November for Round 3.
