'Electrifying' gets his 2nd Feature |

The Star Transport, Esperance Milk Supply Formula 500 double points round, turned into a two man struggle in the AMCA division between Mad Mick Roost and Craig Electrifying Morris. Even with the excitement machine, Kalgoorlies WA8 Jason Roberts making a Re-Debut in an immaculate model, fuel and oil pressure problems put an early end to his night. Throw on top of that Greg Turbo Thornton facing Mission impossible in finding an axle for his car from last meeting, we were down a few numbers. However the action was pretty hot on the track, the first heat was a clean win to Mad Mick, However JD Champion put up a great race to finish in second position on a greasy track, followed at a distance by Churchy Walker. Heat two looked as if it was going to be the race of the century with Mad Mick and Jason Roberts off the front of the pack, but Jason’s problems reared itself early and despite a great tussle on the first lap, the race fizzled into a predictable 1/ Mad Mick, 2/ Craig Morris, 3/ Churchy Walker. Race Three was the race of the night on a slightly “tricky” track. Turn Two proved to be a handful with a complete lack of traction on the exit, which caused all sorts of excitement. Although the race was led from start to finish by Craig, he was constantly challenged by Pete Walker on the inside and outside with Mick Roost at one stage spearing in to the lead, only to have the slippery section out of turn 2 take its toll on his charge. This was the nature of the race, lap after lap until “his madness” came in a little hot and put his model around, changing a top three finish into a fifth. The end result was 1/ Craig Morris, 2/ Peter Walker 3/ JD Champion. The final was a Mad Mick show until the final lap, with a blown right rear allowing “Mr. Electrifying” through for the win. Mick held on for the second place and a very distant, not very happy Churchy round out the top three. JD champion by all means looks as if he blew a Diff, (to be confirmed) and Bill “Smurf” Govans, having made some changes to the car was happy with the handling, but needs to find some speed. Churchy although coming off the track after a near perfect run in the third heat, had the smile washed away in the final with a car that once again, would not turn. So meeting results, 1/ Craig Morris, 2/ Mick Roost, 3/ Churchy Walker.
Round 7 feature winner Craig Morris and his family So that brings Mad Micks and Churchys five race meetings in 5 weeks to a close, Next meeting in Esperance is the Late Models, February 25th, , but will see everyone in Kalgoorlie on the 18th February.
